We’ve talked before about some of the benefits of a RAM, Dodge, Jeep®, or Chrysler lease – lower monthly payments, easy upgrades, and no depreciation, among other things.
However, many drivers wonder what happens when the lease ends on their vehicle. Our dealers here at Hall Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Virginia Beach love answering questions for our customers, so today we’re going to answer this one!
End of Lease Options
The first thing to know is that there are actually a variety of options at the end of your lease! Depending on how you feel about the car and your plans for the future, you can choose to:
- Return and Upgrade. Get into the latest model year of the same vehicle, or experiment with a different RAM truck or Dodge car!
- Keep Your Lease. That’s right, if you’ve fallen in love with your leased vehicle, you can choose to buy it!
- Go Car-Free. This can be difficult, but if you’ve been downsizing or are moving to a pedestrian-friendly area, you can just return your lease – as simple as that!
Returning Your Lease
Unless you’ve opted to purchase your leased Dodge or Jeep model, you’ll be returning it at the end of the lease period. There are a few things you can do to prepare your vehicle and make the process go smoothly!
- Get your vehicle ready for an inspection. While minor wear-and-tear is okay, it helps to have your car, truck, or SUV looking its best.
- Have a lease inspection about 90 days before your lease ends to make sure your vehicle is in good condition.
- Consider repairing your car after the first inspection. This is your decision, but it could save you money on your lease return!
