When was the last time you were enthusiastic about a minivan? For drivers around Virginia Beach, the automotive press, and all of us at Hall Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM Virginia Beach, the answer was "around this time last year." That's when the new Chrysler Pacifica appeared. Now that it's here, let's see what's in store for the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica.
Quite a bit remains unchanged from last model year, which is to be expected when a vehicle's only two years old. The same powertrain and many of the same features and options are back, which is usually a good indication that a company took the time to get it right the first time. However, there are some new features.
Trims
There's a new base trim (L) and a new Touring L trim. The L trim slots in below the LX trim, which was last year's base model. The Touring Plus trim slots in just above the LX as a replacement for the Touring trim. Take note: the new base trim is less expensive than last year's base model.
Infotainment
Chrysler UConnect gets a few imporant updates. The first is to its operating system, which now supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The next is screen sizes. Last year's standard five-inch touchscreen gets swapped for a seven-incher, or you can upgrade to an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The latter also supports unlimited 4G LTE Wi-Fi (AT&T, subscription required; speed may be slowed with heavier data useage).
Safety Features
Active safety features vary by trim, as is the case with other models at your Virginia Beach Chrysler dealership. At least one feature is now standard on all trims: blind spot warning system with cross-traffic detection.
